during the booking process we found the peak venues staff to be approachable and efficient. our queries were met with helpful suggestions which gave us confidence that our weekend would be a success. we were delighted with the accommodation. it suited everyone, from 8 to 80. the children and dogs found plenty to keep them occupied leaving the adults to 'catch up' as we see each other only occasionally. the kitchen was very well equipped, beds comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us to relax and enjoy being together. the weather was good so we were able to use the outdoor space and when we could tear ourselves away from lapwing, we enjoyed the beauty of the peak district. a most memorable weekend. thank you so much. loaiza stayed in march '18 we had a lovely stay and wonderful weekend. reid stayed in december '17 thank you for providing such a beautiful property, it was perfect for our large family christmas get together. anonymous stayed in november '17 fantastic house, lovely views and a very friendly family who own it. anonymous stayed in november '17 lovely cottage, great views. tink kept my grandson occupied, throwing stones. bakewell worth a visit. also manchester was lovely with german xmas markets. very enjoyable stay. anonymous stayed in november '17 lovely cottage, nice and cosy and warm. thank you. p.s the plinth under kitchen units keeps falling when you open dishwasher, so be careful. anonymous stayed in november '17 lovely cottage, amazing views and very peaceful. dog and kiddie friendly. you may want to checkout the dishwasher, it may need salt and rinse aid! anonymous stayed in november '17 well equiped, very peaceful, a safe and welcooming place for both children and dogs. thank you. anonymous stayed in november '17 extremely delightful cottage with amazing views. thanks for rescuing us. see you soon. anonymous stayed in november '17 a very restful and comfortable week. the walk to the salt cellar and the goyt valley bridge were highlights. you have got it just right! anonymous stayed in november '17 a lovely, lively, comfy house with lovely scenery in a nice village. a very, very friendly dog, but a known shoe steeler! anonymous stayed in november '17 this has been the best half-term holiday i have ever had (and tink was great too) anonymous stayed in november '17 we had a very relaxing week in comfortable surroundings. the view is stunning. tink (heslop family dog) was so much fun. anonymous stayed in november '17 lovely cottage , wonderful views- we all had a fabulous time- thank you- we look forward to seeing you soon proud stayed in november '17 we had a wonderful stay at lapwing barns - the location & accommodation could have not have been more perfect, we would highly recommend. edgar stayed in september '17 many thanks. it was an amazing venue for my husbands 50th. linn stayed in september '17 our stay at lapwing barns was fantastic, it was spacious, very clean and the beds were super comfy. we had a great time and my daughter in law was so surprised and delighted. the only downside was the weather, it was awful,it rained the whole weekend, but we didn't let it detract from our enjoyment. i would not hesitate to recommend peak venues for large groups and i will certainly be looking at all your properties next time we are going away. patel stayed in august '17 although the weather could have been a little kinder, the rooms, facilities and equipment were ideal for our stay. the major factors for us choosing lapwing barns was that it had sufficient number of bedrooms, bathrooms and a large area for the whole group to dine together in one single group and have a space large enough for us to hold our showcase event (karaoke, comedy sketches, games, yoga and interactive slide show). on sunday morning as the weather was nice and sunny we did manage to have a bbq brunch after our indoor yoga session. the lawn area was also great for outdoor fun and the scenery was very picturesque and certainly provided a great backdrop and contrast for the group photos in our colourful indian outfits. on the whole the pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and general level of equipment was very good and better than other places we have stayed in. there was always lots of hot water on tap and the water pressure in general and especially for the showers was great which we haven’t always found at other venues we’ve stayed at. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at lapwing barnes – thank you. martins stayed in august '17 firstly, thank you for a wonderful week at lapwing barns. the accommodation was more than we could have expected and everyone had a wonderful time from the youngest kids to the more "middle aged" amongst us. the equipment available in the kitchen was comprehensive, i think the only thing missing was a rolling pin which we compensated for with a wine bottle! also, the wi-fi router could be a bit more powerful but apart from that there was nothing to fault, even the weather played nice. gurung stayed in august '17 finally i would like to say a big thanks on behalf of all those that stayed at the venue in the past week. we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and could not have asked for a better venue. perfect to our needs. the kids absolutely loved it and the venue very spacious. very well coordinated in regards to taking over and handing back. once again a big thank you. unsworth stayed in june '17 we really did have such a wonderful stay at lapwing barns - it is a beautiful venue in spectacular surroundings. and the weather...! (we did move the bed in the small double and bedside table in order to make space for the cot but the bedroom was fine for 2 adults and a toddler). the location is beautiful and the kids loved the garden and visiting the cows in the local farm! the house was definitely as nice as the website portrays and i would recommend it to friends and family. the kitchen/ dining area was perfect for the size of our party and we managed to make some big meals with the great oven! it was also good to have the kids plates and cutlery. the arrival at the house, via the royal oak went very smoothly and it was nice to be shown the house first. the wine was lovely- thank you. i'd also like to say that the booking process has been very smooth and i haven't had any difficulties in contacting yourselves. all my questions/queries were answered promptly. thank you very much and we hope to return again. wright stayed in may '12 thanks so much for making our stay so pleasurable, the accommodation was great, suited our needs perfectly, and the pub is very good. we enjoyed the food greatly. de boar stayed in may '12 we had a very good week at lapwing, thank you. i wrote some comments in the visitors' book. i would fully recommend this property to others woolley stayed in april '12 we had a wonderful time at lapwing house & barns. all of us loved the accommodation - features, fixtures, fittings, equipment, sustainable products, useful welcome guide, wine, & most importantly...location! we did some great walks (luda church, chrome hill & others) & enjoyed fantastic weather, which i can only assume is standard for the peak district as it was my first visit. we also thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the royal oak, a real treat. thank you once again for an excellent stay. wil certainly be in touch if we plan to holiday in the area again. hill stayed in january '12 hi paul thanks so much for a lovely stay at your cottages. you personally were so helpful -
